The Opportunity
Our client, a global leader in manufacturing with a strong presence in Asia, is seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager to oversee day-to-day financial operations in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
In this role, you'll ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial data, drive process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide strategic financial and tax guidance. Responsibilities but are not limited to:
- Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Oversee journal entries and monthly closings, ensuring alignment with HQ policies, IFRS, and US GAAP.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements reflecting the company’s financial status.
- Continuously improve accounting processes for efficiency, accuracy, and deadline adherence.
- Perform account and variance analysis to ensure budget alignment and provide insights.
- Manage internal and external audit reporting to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Work with external tax consultants to oversee tax filings and ensure compliance across federal, state, and local levels.
- Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements, including statistical returns.
- Partner with business teams to provide financial and tax advisory for decision-making.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
- Manage special projects and ad-hoc financial requests as needed
To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Expertise in Accounting & Financial Management with a deep understanding of principles and procedures.
- Strong tax knowledge, including U.S. tax laws, and the ability to guide tax filings in collaboration with external consultants.
- Solid government and compliance awareness, ensuring adherence to U.S. regulations in accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
- A blend of technical, leadership, and strategic skills, including budgeting, financial analysis, and problem-solving.
- Strong business partnering abilities and cross-department collaboration.
- Excellent conflict management, project management, and team leadership skills, with a proven ability to delegate, plan, and organize effectively.
Other Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (MBA and CPA preferred).
- 5-10 years of accounting experience in manufacturing or distribution, with 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
- Public accounting experience and strong knowledge of IFRS and U.S. GAAP.
- Advanced skills in Excel and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle).
